Mellencamp and estranged husband Edwin Arroyave split on Nov. 1 and have since started “nesting” — cycling in and out of their house while their children stay put
Teddi Mellencamp is opening up about her unusual crash pad amid her divorce.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been staying with Kyle Richards intermittently after filing for divorce from Edwin Arroyave, she revealed on the first episode of Erika Girardi‘s podcast Diamonds in the Rough.
But instead of the guest house or a spare bedroom, she says she’s been sleeping in Richards’ glam room.
While discussing Girardi filming something in the space, she asks Mellencamp, “Is that where you’re sleeping?”
To which Mellencamp replies, “That’s my bedroom now, b—-!”
Girardi is shocked and says she figured she was staying “in the house out back,” but Mellencamp counters that she likes the unconventional space.
“Isn’t that great up there?. It’s so cozy. Isn’t that a dream up there?” she says.
While the setup may be unconventional Mellencamp is grateful to her host. “Thankfully, Kyle has let me do that,” she says before adding with a laugh, “You can’t make this s— up.”
The reason Mellencamp found herself in need of a place to stay is due to her current co-parenting arrangement with Arroyave.
The former couple, who share children Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4, are “nesting,” she told Girardi. The increasingly common practice involves their children staying put in one house, and the adults cycling in and out for agreed upon parenting time. Mellencamp says she feels it’s beneficial for the kids.
Though she and Arroyave no longer live together, they’re still amicable. “We’re completely happy to be around one another,” she shared.

Arroyave and Mellencamp filed for divorce on Nov. 1 after 13 years of marriage. Mellencamp cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for going their separate ways.
Despite their split, Mellencamp still holds respect for Arroyave and the years they spent together.
“Marrying Edwin and having our kids and doing that together is one of the best things that I’ve ever done,” she said on the podcast.
