Early bird gets the worm!

“You only sleep four hours, right?” Maher asked Leno, before adding that that’s a “very rare” trait.

“I’ve been up since four,” the comedian replied. “I went to bed last night at midnight.”

Leno stated that he typically hits the hay around two or three in the morning, but decided to go to bed at midnight the night prior. When he woke up, he said he spent the early hours “just dragging my a– around, reading and doing stuff.”

“But you don’t feel s—–?” Maher asked, to which Leno said, “No!”

“And you don’t drink coffee?” the talk show host further questioned.

“No, no hot liquids,” Leno replied with a disgusted look on his face.

Maher continued to ask him about his reaction and Leno replied, saying he doesn’t “like hot liquids.”

The former Tonight Show host went on to say that he also doesn’t like soup, saying that the dish is “just a way to screw you out of a meal. That’s my attitude.” He added that he’s “not a big soup guy.”

“It is just a way to screw you out of a meal,” Leno quipped. “I could have something to eat, but you give me a dish that’s wet. Okay, thanks.”

The comedian is currently gearing up to embark on a 2025 tour, which will see him make stops in Las Vegas, Nashville and Sarasota, Fla. from January to May. He previously toured throughout 2024 with his last show occurring on Nov. 30 in Laughlin, Nevada.

Asked by Maher about where he was “off to” on his next “170 days on the road,” Leno said: “I don’t know. I’ll pick up the envelope Monday and see where I’m going!”

Leno made headlines in November for falling down a hill in Pennsylvania and bruising his face and body. He also broke his wrist during the incident. The comedian later opened up about the injuries while hosting the inaugural amfAR Las Vegas benefit event on Nov. 22.

“I’m feeling good,” Leno said on the red carpet. “I’ve got a broken wrist, but I’m all right.”
