Paris Hilton is devastated over the loss of her home.
The reality star shared that her house in Malibu burned down as a result of the devastating wildfires currently raging through parts of Los Angeles County.
“Heartbroken beyond words,” Paris wrote on Instagram Jan. 8 alongside a news report regarding the fires. “Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.”
The 43-year-old added that she and husband Carter Reum had “built so many precious memories” in the house, including their 23-month old son Phoenix‘s first steps, and were dreaming “of building a lifetime of memories” with their 14-month-old daughter London.
“While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe,” Paris continued. “My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets. My heartaches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable. To know so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”
The Simple Life star shared that her 11:11 Media Impact Team would be reaching out to nonprofit organizations in an effort to find out how they can support communities who have been impacted by the wildfires.
“We’re committed to offering help as soon as possible,” she said, “and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most.”
Paris also sent a message to “the brave firefighters and first responders,” thanking them for the risks they were taking to help protect Los Angeles residents.
“Sending so much love and strength to all of you,” she wrote. “We’re in this together, LA. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change.”
Unfortunately, Paris is among many who have seen their homes destroyed. The Hills alums Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt were among the first to share that their Pacific Palisades home—as well as Spencer’s parents’ home—had burned on Jan. 7.
The 41-year-old posted a video to TikTok of the devastation, writing “Nightmare Come True.”
“When your house burns down and you have nothing, your parents’ house burns down, and they have nothing,” he said in a follow up video processing the damage. “There’s only one thing that can maybe make you feel better. A bag of bagels.”
“Obviously I’m in shock,” Spencer added. “My brain’s not functioning, I think this is the most unhinged post you’ve seen.”
