The most controversial boxing match ever is almost upon us as 27-year-old Jake Paul takes on a 58-year-old Mike Tyson tomorrow evening (15 November).
Purists and casual spectators alike will be tuning in to Netflix’s first ever live broadcast at the 60,000 capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Paul said at the press conference last night: “I fear no man. So I want him to be that old savage Mike. He says he’s going to kill me. I’m ready.
“I want that killer. I want the hardest match possible Friday night, and I want there to be no excuses from everyone at home when I knock him out.”
Tyson said: “I’m just ready to fight. I’ve said everything I had to say. There’s nothing else to say. I’m just looking forward to fighting.”
Since many of us already pay for the streaming service, it’ll be nice change to not pay extra to watch a boxing match.
But one group who certainly isn’t bothered about money is the company who splashed a whopping $2 million (£1.58 million) on a ringside package with six seats.

Fight organisers Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), co-founded by Paul, has sold its $2 million ‘MVP Owner’s Experience’, which will include to a ringside suite against the ring at the AT&T Stadium.
It’s basically a three-day experience featuring two ringside apron seats and four row one ringside seats.
There will be a post-fight in-ring experience with a photo opportunity and the buyers will get private VIP entrance to all events.

Also, they’ll get a two-night stay at the Loews Arlington Hotel and a private VIP green room on fight night, featuring an open bar and all-inclusive menu.
A dedicated host/concierge and personal security escort will be hand for the duration of the event.
The most bizarre detail? According to mock-ups of the ringside booth on X, it looks like after shelling out $2 million, the VIPs will be watching the fight on a TV rather than watching it happen in front of them.

TorkLaw, a national personal injury law firm, purchased the eye-watering package as the founder, Reza Torkzadeh, said: “TorkLaw, is excited to have purchased the MVP Owners experience package for this historic event with MVP and Netflix, bringing a once-in-a-lifetime boxing event to audiences around the world.
“Just as every fighter in the ring stands to represent resilience, grit, and the pursuit of victory, TorkLaw stands in the corner of the people, fighting for justice and empowering those who need it most.

The undercard for the Mike Tyson Vs Jake Paul fight is set to take place around 1am our time, while the main event is expected to be around 4am.

Someone has actually bought that $2million (£1.6million) ticket for the Jake Paul v Mike Tyson fight.
Yep, ahead of the big face-off tomorrow (15 November) night – well, the early hours of Saturday morning for us UK lot – a special VIP ticket has apparently been sold.
The big boxing event is of course getting live streamed on Netflix, with subscribers being able to watch it without paying an additional PPV fee.
But plenty of people are still heading out to watch in person as Paul faces Tyson at the 60,000 capacity AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
And that now seems to include someone whose splashed the millions on this top-end ticket that includes six seats.
What’s included in the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul VIP package?
The package comes with a special pre-fight locker room visit plus a unrivalled view in a ‘specially built ringside suite’. Two of the six ticket holders will get a unique experience, sitting elevated above the rest of the crowd.
But get this, early renders show that the fans in this kind of private booth attached to the ring won’t necessarily be watching the action right in front of them straight-up. Oh no, they’ll be watching it splashed on a TV screen in front of them. While they’re in there, they’ll be provided with the ‘top-shelf’ food and drinks on tap as they lounge back on recliners.
Sorry, I mean, you can’t tell me I couldn’t just create this same feeling from the comfort of my own home, pulling up my comfy sofa in front of the telly and laying out a buffet?
But whatever, this special package does come with a whole load of other fancy perks like getting a set of autographed boxing gloves from the main men of the night. They’ll even have a personal escort throughout the event plus a two-night stay at the Loews Arlington Hotel.
Oh, and of course, the package comes with the standard stuff, like you know, access to every bit of the pre-fight stuff from press conferences to the weigh-ins.
The other four ticket-holders not getting to sit in the ‘Ringside Apron Seats’ will instead be in Row 1 ringside seats.

It was announced yesterday that this whopping MVP Owner’s Experience was purchased by Los Angeles-based law firm, TorkLaw.
Korosh Torkzadeh, from TorkLaw, told USA TODAY Sports: “Life and sport often reflect each other in their unpredictability. At TorkLaw, as we spend our days fighting for our clients both inside and outside the courtroom, we see in boxing the same determination required to face life’s toughest battles.
“Our involvement in this event is more than just support for sport — it’s a celebration of the human spirit and the strength it takes to keep fighting, no matter the odds.”
Well, good for them.
Before they watch the big event on fight night, they’ll also get access to a Private VIP Green Room with an open bar and all-inclusive menu.
The undercard will begin at 8pm eastern time (ET) on Friday, which is 1am GMT on Saturday for UK viewers.

Netflix subscribers have been warned over a small issue which may prevent them from watching the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight this weekend.
We are now mere days away from the biggest fight of the year taking place, when YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake ‘The Problem Child’ Paul steps in front of an 80,000 strong crowd at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to fight the legendary ‘Iron Mike’.
The fight has faced several setbacks in order to get over the line, with a health scare from 58-year-old Tyson pushing it back a number of months – however, we’re finally here.
So, here is everything you need to know ahead of watching the fight from the comfort of your own sofa.
How do I watch the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight?
The main event will take place at around 10pm in Texas on Friday (15 November), which means that UK viewers will need to stay up until 4am on Saturday (16 November) if they want to catch the fight live.
Do I need to pay extra to watch Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson?
One of the main questions fans have been asking in the lead-up to the bout is whether or not you’ll need to pay extra.
The fight is broadcasting exclusively on streaming platform Netflix and anyone who already has a subscription will be available to watch free of charge. That’s right, the fight was no PPV charge and will even be available to people who have the £4.99-a-month ads-supported subscription.

Which is no doubt music to many of your ears.
However, there are some important things to be aware of before Friday night/Saturday morning rolls around.
If you’re planning to be kind and share your subscription with others, be aware that only up to two people will be able to watch from a standard £10.99-a-month subscription.
However, anyone who pays for the more expensive £17.99-a-month premium subscription will be able to share their login with as many as four users, including the option to add two members from a different household (a feature long gone for many Netflix users) and see the pair pummel each other in crystal clear Ultra HD quality.

Do I need a TV Licence to watch Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson?
Viewers who exclusively consume their content through streaming platforms should also be aware that the rules are slightly different when it comes to broadcasting live TV.
While you don’t need a TV licence to stream shows, you do need to pay for one if you’re watching live shows – with the penalty for being caught out a grim £1,000.

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are just days away from their huge boxing fight streaming live on Netflix with the rules for the bout laid out in advance.
Taking place in the heart of the USA at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the mega fight will pit former world champion Iron Mike against Paul, a YouTuber turned professional boxer going by the nickname ‘The Problem Child’.
Despite the 31 year age difference, the fight is going ahead – if Tyson can clear two final tests – after being rescheduled following serious health problems for Tyson who thought he was ‘going to die’.
It is one of seven fights on the card, with six undercard fights taking place, organised by Paul’s company Most Valuable Promotions (MVP). Most notably is a rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano for the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and Ring lightweight titles. The main fight has been sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, with three major conditions placed on the Paul vs Tyson bout.
Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson rules
Several conditions were placed on the fight between Paul and Tyson, with them making it slightly different to most professional fights you might have watched.
First up, instead of the standard 10-ounce gloves worn in a heavyweight fight, they will wear 14-ounce gloves. The heavier the glove, the more padding and the more shock absorbed by the glove, rather than the fist and point of contact on the opposition fighter.
Following this up, there will be eight rounds instead of the usual 12.
And for those eight rounds, they will be two minutes long instead of the standard three minutes you see in a professional bout.
For the fight, there will be the usual three judges at ringside who will score each round in the event of there not being a knockout, which are sanctioned. No head guards will be allowed, either.

Rules split fans
Some fans aren’t too happy with the specific rules, with one saying: “14-ounce gloves? So they’re just basically having a pillow fight?”
A second said: “No head gear? At almost 60, Mike Tyson cannot take a shot to the head. That’s a tough one.”
And a third wrote: “14 oz is heavier than amateurs. 10 or 12 oz would’ve been great.”
But another wrote: “The two minute rule is HUGE.
At Tyson’s age, a two minute sprint, one minute recovery is much easier than three on, one off.”
Another posted: “Mike Tyson will either be knocked down quickly or they will go the distance.”

How to watch Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson
You will need to have a valid Netflix subscription to watch the fight. And that’s it.
It means you can watch it via the app on your phone, gaming console, smart TV, or other device.
The standard plan with adverts costs £4.99 or $6.99 a month with other packages coming in at £10.99 or $15.49 a month and £17.99 or $22.99 a month, respectively.
The undercard will begin at 8pm eastern time (ET) on Friday, which is 1am GMT on Saturday for UK viewers.

Jake Paul has revealed how his upcoming Mike Tyson fight could be his ‘biggest payday’ thanks to some pretty lucrative bonuses in his contract.
It’s time to set your alarms boxing fans, as one of the most highly anticipated fights of 2024 is set to happen in just under two days.
This Friday (15 November) Jake ‘The Problem Child’ Paul will face off against Tyson in-front of up to 80,000 fans at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas and even more tuning in from home on Netflix.
Considering the amount of coverage leading up to the fight it’s very likely that both Paul and Tyson are set to get a major payday, with the former YouTuber recently boasting in a press conference that he is set to make £31 million ($40m).
Which certainly make spending eight rounds being punched by Mike Tyson sound a lot more appealing.
Meanwhile 58-year-old ‘Iron Mike’ is said to have accepted a deal of £15.4 million ($20m) according to reports published by The Sun. However, the official figures have not been released to public.
Paul meanwhile seems to have made it is his mission to let absolutely everyone who is willing to listen know that he is in line to make serious money from the fight – which includes some pretty lucrative bonuses.
Speaking about how much extra cash the pair could make during an exclusive interview with SPORTbible, Paul claimed built-in bonus clauses meant the he and his 58-year-old opponent could be in line for a big pay out.

“There are definitely certain guaranteed figures and other certain built-in bonuses and stuff on top of sales – key performance indicators that trigger certain things,” The Problem Child explained.
The 28-year-old remained coy on exactly how much extra he could be making, but made sure to let us all know the match is set to be a very big payday for him.
“This is definitely my biggest payday, of all the fights for sure,” he added. “It is definitely a healthy payday.”
Tyson on the other hand stated that he is going into the fight wanting glory instead of cash.
“This fight is not going to change my life financially,” he added. “If I did it for free, it’s not going to change my life. My wife is constantly telling me, you do not need to do this fight.
“This is what I want to do, this is me. I’m seeking my glory.”
