Doctor Odyssey Fixes Editing Error After Fans Point Out Mistake: See the Before and After

Despite lots of drama happening onboard in the latest episode of Doctor Odyssey, fans were quick to notice something else: an editing error.

A viewer pointed out the mistake, which happened as Tristan (Sean Teale) discussed his cheerleading past with Max (Joshua Jackson) and Avery (Phillipa Soo) on the April 10 episode of the ABC medical drama series.

“In last nights Doctor Odyssey, while the ship was sailing around the ocean. a tree from the outdoor studio they film at (on land) could be seen behind Tristan,” the fan account shared on X.

The screenshot showed the tree and blue skies from the outdoor studio — without showing the bridge of the ship in the background.

After the error was pointed out, ABC appeared to fix the inconsistency in the episode, which is now streaming on Hulu.

ABC did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The fan account shared the revision, showing the before-and-after screenshots on X.

“THEY FIXED IT. The tree has been removed. And it turns out they forgot to CGI in the entire top of the ship too.”

The episode also featured a major revelation from Avery. Following her ménage à trois with Tristan and Max  — and her announcement of a resulting pregnancy — it turned out that she wasn’t expecting a baby after all.

After taking a paternity test, the men found her sipping champagne in a hot tub. She then revealed that the positive pregnancy test was false as she actually had a cyst on her ovary that mimicked the pregnancy hormones.

After the men try to provide her comfort with some treats that she couldn’t indulge while pregnant, they later grieve together in the hot tub and discuss their dreams for the future and toast to the baby that could have been, Charlie.
