Amy Schumer poked fun at her “moon face” in new comedy, Kinda Pregnant.

The film, now streaming on Netflix, stars Schumer as an English teacher named Lainy who, jealous of her best friend’s pregnancy, decides to wear a fake baby bump.

In one scene, she’s in a maternity store when a worker asks how far along she is in her pregnancy. The worker pinches her cheeks and says, “Judging by your facial bloating, five months?”

“I’ll break your f—ing neck,” Schumer says under her breath in the scene. She quickly corrects herself and replies with a smile, “I’ve been a freaking wreck.”

Schumer, 43, revealed in February 2024 that she was diagnosed with Cushing syndrome.

The condition occurs when too much cortisol (the primary stress hormone) is inside one’s body for a long time, according to the Mayo Clinic. It’s caused by taking steroids for an extended period of time and can cause weight gain, acne and distinctive facial swelling known as “moon face.”

Last month, Schumer explained on the Call Her Daddy podcast that she wouldn’t have known she had Cushing syndrome if it weren’t for people criticizing her suddenly swollen face on the internet.

“Doctors were chiming in in the comments and they were, like, ‘No, no … something’s really up. Your face looks so crazy.’ “ the comedian told Alex Cooper on the Jan. 22 episode.

Schumer said she got her Cushing diagnosis right before she began shooting Kinda Pregnant.

“I learned I had this condition and that I had something called moon face. And I’m starring in a movie — and there’s a camera right in my face,” the actress said.

“Everyone’s like, ‘You look great,’ ” she added, until one friend gave her the blunt truth, telling her, “Your face is looking, like, a little bit insane.”

Schumer admitted that she did worry about her appearance before filming, but director Lorraine Caffery helped her feel more confident.

“I was feeling really down on myself before I started filming this movie … I was, like, really having trouble figuring out how I was going to star in a movie while I had this going on,” the I Feel Pretty star said.

“I just needed one person to just amp me up,” Schumer added.
