The competition series starring Christina Haack, Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae El Moussa marked the network’s highest-rated freshman series since September 2022, attracting 4 million viewers when it premiered on Jan. 29, 2025.

The Flip Off was an unconventional TV reunion for exes Christina and Tarek, who were previously married for seven years and welcomed two kids. Nearly a decade after their split in 2016, Christina and Tarek landed the new HGTV show with their respective spouses. That was until Christina separated from now-estranged husband Josh Hall amid filming.

Instead of scrapping the series, Christina flew solo in season 1 — teaming up against Tarek and Heather to see who could find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain.

“Since splitting up with Josh, the series was so much fun to film. There’s drama but not drama between us,” Christina told Extra in January 2025, referring to her costars Tarek and Heather. “We had the best time.”

Will there be a Flip Off season 2? 

HGTV hasn’t officially renewed The Flip Off for a second season, but Christina and Heather have hinted at a potential return.

“If [Tarek] doesn’t want to do it again, Heather and I will do it without him,” Christina jokingly said on an Instagram Live in January 2025. Heather added: “If everyone loves it, maybe we’ll do a season 2.”

While speaking to TV Insider a month later, Tarek joked that fans might see Christina get married for a fourth time in season 2.

“Stop it! I know everyone is hoping that happens in season 2! It’s not going to happen,” she responded before playfully slapping her ex on the arm.

Though Tarek and Heather won the competition, Christina said she is ready for a “rematch” during the finale’s final moments. “I absolutely want a rematch,” she said in a confessional. “I want revenge and I will win the next round.”

What has Christina Haack said about her experience on the show? 

Christina’s experience on The Flip Off got off to a tumultuous start. She told Entertainment Tonight in November 2024 that filming with her now-estranged husband Josh Hall was “not fun” and that it was a relief when they eventually split, and he left the show.

“I did not enjoy filming with him, so having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier and so much better in every way,” Christina added.

As for her dynamic with Tarek and Heather, she told Jennifer Hudson in January 2025 that filming as a trio was “genuinely” so much fun and nothing but “friendly competition.”

“I feel like the kids love it that we’re doing a show together, and they can see their parents all working together,” Heather added. “They love it. They’re very supportive.”

In January 2025, Heather and Tarek told PopCulture that working alongside Christina on The Flip Off was, at the end of the day, “pretty special.”

“Everything turned out way better than I expected. It was a ton of fun. In the end, everyone came even closer together,” he said.

However, Heather told Access Hollywood she was in charge of keeping the peace between the exes when the competition got heated.

“They bicker and fight [like brother and sister]. I felt like I was the mediator,” she told the outlet. “I kept my cool.”
