The country singer, 18, who first went viral for yodeling in a Walmart was stopped by TikTok and Instagram interviewer Daniel Mac while driving around L.A.

It’s been almost seven years since Mason Ramsey went viral for yodeling in the middle of a Walmart back in 2018 — and it seems like he’s done some growing in that time!

Ramsey, now 18, was stopped while driving around Los Angeles in a Lamborghini by Instagram and TikTok interviewer Daniel Mac. Mac runs a popular video series called “What Do You Do For a Living?” where he stops people driving around in nice vehicles to ask them … just that.

In the video, Mac asked Ramsey, who is wearing sunglasses and an orange jacket, what he does for a living, to which Ramsey replied, “I sing country music.”

Surprised by the young driver in such a flashy car, Mac asked in the video, “So are you like, famous or something?”

Ramsey then revealed to Mac that he “got his start yodeling in a Walmart a few years back.”

“Wait, you’re the ‘Yodel Kid?’ ” Mac asked, suddenly recognizing the young singer driving the car. “Wait dude, now I feel old!”

Driving around L.A. in fancy car is not out of character for the country crooner, who rose to fame after a video of him yodeling “Lovesick Blues” by Hank Williams in a Walmart when he was just 11 years old garnered more than 25 million social media views in just a few days.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Ramsey explained his love of all things classic — including classic cars.

“I just got a 1968 Chevrolet K10,” Ramsey told PEOPLE excitedly in the interview. “K10 stands for four-wheel drive versus the C10, which is a rear-wheel car.”

Soon after skyrocketing to fame, Ramsey signed a record deal with Atlantic Records and Nashville-based label Big Loud, and his debut single “Famous” entered at No. 62 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 list.

In 2022, Ramsey’s song “Before I Knew It” from his 2019 EP Twang gained popularity on TikTok after he featured it in several videos updating followers on his life.

Ramsey recently wrapped the first leg of his Falls Into Place Tour on Dec. 16, in support of his latest album, I’ll See You in My Dreams.

“I’ve always been wanting to do this style of stuff — I’ve just been waiting,” said Ramsey of the traditional yet explorative full-length debut. “I feel like [my sound] is kind of competing against the same ‘ole thing, and I just wanted to really step out and do my own thing and play the music that inspired me as a kid growing up.”

Ramsey has truly been keeping busy, scoring a coveted spot on the soundtrack for Twisters this past summer courtesy of the groovy song “Shake Shake (All Night Long),” and he recently released an EP, titled Merry Christmas Baby, on Nov. 15.
