Tyson and Paul were last together during their Nov. 15 boxing match, which the former YouTuber won by unanimous decision
Former sparring opponents Mike Tyson and Jake Paul reunited at an inaugural ball for the newly-sworn-in President Donald Trump.
Tyson and Paul — who were last seen together when the former YouTuber beat the boxing legend during their Netflix match in November — were seen at the Starlight Ball after Trump’s inauguration on Monday, Jan. 20.
Paul, 27, shared the video on his Instagram page, where he can be seen hoisting Tyson, 57, on his shoulders as the tuxedo-clad pair laugh and cheer along with the crowd in Washington, D.C.
“Best friends,” Paul captioned the post, along with a tag for Tyson.
Tyson and Paul repeatedly traded barbs and insults to each other leading up to the Nov. 15 boxing match, which was delayed by four months after the legendary former heavyweight champion was diagnosed with an ulcer flare-up.
As the fight inched closer, the duo’s tension reached a fever pitch on Nov. 14 when Tyson slapped Paul in the face during the weigh-in for the event that was streamed by millions.
“Jake stepped on Mike’s foot, that prompted the reaction,’’ Tom Patti, a longtime friend of Tyson’s, told USA TODAY Sports. “I was there and Mike just told me.’’
After the scuffle, Paul took to X to share his excitement at the moment. “This is a pinch me moment. I got slapped by Mike Tyson 🤗,” he wrote.
Paul went on to unequivocally beat Tyson in an eight-round unanimous decision on Friday, Nov. 15.
Last month, Tyson admitted that he didn’t remember much of the fight.
In an interview with Covino & Rich on Fox Sports on Dec. 9, Tyson told the hosts, “I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out a little.”
“I remember coming back from the first round and Jake is doing some kind of…I don’t know what he was doing. And that’s the last thing I remember,” he continued.
Tyson also revealed that he now questions why he even went through with the fight at all. “The day after I woke up and said to my wife, ‘Why did I do that?’ I just don’t know what the hell was going on,” he said.
