The hit series, which saw Ronald Gladden punked by a cast of actors and comedians, is coming back for more

The minds behind Jury Duty are coming back for more.
A second season of the hit series, which premiered in 2023 to critical acclaim, has been picked up by Prime Video, Variety reported.
The follow-up was reportedly already filmed, and this time, took place at a corporate retreat instead of season 1’s courtroom backdrop. The outlet reported that season 2 was filmed in Agoura Hills, outside Los Angeles.
Amazon declined to comment on the report.
The renewal news comes nearly two years after Jury Duty premiered on Freevee and featured a cast of actors and comedians who appeared to be randomly selected for jury duty — and an alleged documentary about the experience — along with Ronald Gladden, the only person who was not aware of the show.

After filming ended, and Gladden was told that the entire series was not, in fact, a documentary but rather a scripted comedic bit, he and James Marsden remained friends. He also scored a multi-year deal with Amazon MGM Studios, Variety reported at the time.
“It was really important to me, I was like, ‘I can’t end this and then go, ‘Hey bud, that was fun, see ya,'” Marsden told PEOPLE of his enduring friendship with Gladden after the show aired. “If we’re really celebrating the guy, then we got to stay pals. And he’s such a purehearted human being — I’d want to be friends with him anyway.”
Gladden, for his part, told PEOPLE the experience was a “rollercoaster” for him, particularly as Marsden went from playing a spoiled Hollywood star to being his real self.
“I was loving James one minute and then I was hating him the next, but then he’d bring himself back,” Gladden said. “But once I found out it was fake, I was just so relieved … to know that he was not that guy.”

There was a lot of adjustment generally after filming ended and he was let in on the joke.
“I’m not kidding, months and months down the road after this I was still getting hit with things like, ‘Oh wow, was that staged, was that fake, was that an actor?’ It took months for me to come to the realization that this actually happened and to accept it,” he said.
Season 1 of Jury Duty can be streamed on Prime Video.
