What You Didn’t See During the 2025 Oscars: Timothée Chalamet Shares a Sweet Moment with Kylie Jenner and More

The 2025 Oscars ceremony was full of memorable moments that will go down in the history books — and ones that deserve another look.

Host Conan O’Brien took the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, on Sunday, March 2, to host the Academy Awards in front of a star-studded guest list including Timothée Chalamet, Colman Domingo, Demi Moore, Mikey Madison, Ariana Grande and Zoe Saldaña.

The ceremony opened with an electric monologue from O’Brien that included zingers about Best Picture nominees Conclave, Wicked, Anora and more. While lightly ribbing director Sean Baker‘s film, the comedian quipped, “Anora used the F word 497 times—that’s three more than the record set by Karla Sofía Gascón‘s publicist.”

The camera then cut to the Best Actress nominee in the audience, whose awards season has been marked by controversy over past social media comments.

Chalamet and girlfriend Kylie Jenner also stepped out for a date night at the awards ceremony, where he was up for Best Actor for his performance in A Complete Unknown.

Halle Berry also locked lips with Adrien Brody and gave him a taste of his own medicine on the red carpet. The playful red carpet moment came 22 years after Brody kissed an unsuspecting Berry at the 2003 Academy Awards.

In the lobby, Emma Stone and Jack Antonoff made their way to the bar together with her husband Dave McCary, later joining them for a drink. After the music producer made a joke, she slapped his arm before laughing out loud.

The bar was a hot spot for Hollywood’s biggest celebrities.

Gal Gadot watched Saldaña win her first Oscar for Best Supporting Actress with her husband and a glass of wine in hand. Annabelle Wallis and Sebastian Stan were also nearby and chatted with Rita Wilson in a group at the lobby bar.

Inside the show, Chalamet and Jenner shared a sweet moment with his sister Pauline Chalamet and Elle Fanning, who greeted the couple in their seats during a commercial break.

The Oscars are notorious for going over its scheduled airtime. In preparation for any hangry award show attendees, O’Brien made sure to keep everyone fed with surprise snack boxes stored under every seat.

The boxes, which contained a bottle of water, pretzels and other goodies, also featured a hand-written letter from the host that read, “I hope you enjoy these snacks. I tried my best to include a gummy but Disney said that was a ‘hard pass.’ “

Selena Gomez and Gascón also interacted inside the awards ceremony. During a break, Gascón walked over to costar Gomez to say hello.

During another commercial break, Colman Domingo invited the star-studded attendees to “dance it up” and share a toast with him on stage.

Stone and BLACKPINK’s Lisa met backstage, and after Stone gushed over how “incredible” the singer was, the two posed for a photo alongside other guests. Shortly after, Gomez and Kieran Culkin showed their appreciation for the L.A. firefighters invited to the ceremony and took time to chat and sign a few photos.

Towards the end of the night, Adrien Brody won the award for Best Actor for his performance in The Brutalist. After he received his award, he posed for a group photo alongside his fellow nominees, Chalamet, Domingo and Stan.

The winners weren’t the only ones who took the spotlight throughout the night, as several presenters also had memorable moments throughout the show. Presenters this year included Ana de Armas, Sterling K. Brown, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Miles Teller, Whoopi Goldberg and Miley Cyrus.

Oprah Winfrey and Whoopi Goldberg also reunited 40 years after The Color Purple to kick off a touching tribute to the legendary music producer Quincy Jones, which also included a star-studded salute from several notable musicians, including Queen Latifah.

Jones wasn’t the only one to get a special tribute at the show, as Morgan Freeman also took the stage to honor his friend and Unforgiven costar Gene Hackman, who was found dead alongside his wife Betsy Arakawa in their New Mexico home on Wednesday, Feb. 26.

Music was prevalent throughout the show, as there were several spectacular performances, including a Wicked good performance from the 2024 film’s stars Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Other performers who took the stage included Doja Cat, Lisa of BLACKPINK, and Raye, who performed a musical tribute to James Bond.
