MMA Fighting has Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul live round-by-round updates for one of the most anticipated boxing fights of the year at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday night.

Mike Tyson (50-6, 2 NC) hasn’t fought since an exhibition draw with legend Roy Jones Jr. on Nov. 28, 2020. The 58-year-old hasn’t had a professional fight in almost 20 years when he quit at the end of the sixth round against Kevin McBride on June 11, 2005.
Jake Paul (10-1) is coming off a sixth-round knockout win of BKFC star Mike Perry on July 20, 2024. Paul has won four fights in a row since he loss to Tommy Fury early last year.

Round 1: Paul staying quick on his feet. Tyson throws a few jabs to start. Paul ties up once Tyson closes the distance. Glancing right hook by Paul. Tyson with a straight left. Overhand right by Tyson. Paul definitely wary of that power. Calo-oy warns about excessive clinching. Paul jabbing as he circles. Paul lets a right hand fly, that caught Tyson a bit. Tyson advancing as the round ends.

Round 2: Tyson letting that jab go. He doesn’t look bad for a 58-year-old. Paul connects with a body shot. Left hook by Tyson backs Paul up. Paul trying to showboat. Jab to the body by Paul. Paul getting his jab going. Paul whiffs on an uppercut. Body shot by Tyson. Clinch by Paul, he wants to wear Tyson down. Jab from Paul not landing, but Tyson not advancing past it. Tyson with a jab. Not much to score in this one.

Round 3: Looping right hand by Tyson. Tyson is aggressive tonight. Body shot by Paul, then a left hook as he circles away. Left hook by Paul and Tyson felt that. He follows with two more good punches. Jab by Paul. He gets through with a left hook. Two more punches land for Paul. Tyson doesn’t look too hurt, but he is getting pieced up. Paul is way too fast and he avoids a round-ending advance from Tyson.

Round 4: Straight right for Paul. He circles and tags Tyson with a left. Paul staying patient. He’s landing his jab consistently. Tyson almost a sitting duck here. He hasn’t really thrown a punch this round.

Round 5: Paul staying on the outside flicking jabs at Tyson’s body. He ventures forward with a looping right. Those shots are coming close to landing clean on Tyson’s chin. Paul just picking his spots. Jabs from Paul, then a check left. Tyson lands a shot in the exchange. More jabs from Paul. Right hand near the end of the round scores for Paul. He’s cruising.

Round 6: More punches from range for Paul. Nothing heavy landing, but he’s keeping himself completely out of danger and Tyson isn’t giving him much reason to change strategy. Quick combo by Paul, Tyson strictly on the defensive. This has become a slog. But really, what did we expect?

Round 7: Hey, Tyson throws a hook out there to start the round. It’s blocked, but at least he’s showing life. Has he just been conserving energy? Paul keeps up the jab work. Paul to the body now. We’re in glorified spar territory right now, though spars are usually more intense. Paul with a good rip to the body. Paul with two hooks. Tyson steps forward and eats another punch. His chin is holding up, at least.

Round 8: Tyson makes it out for the final round, so… yay? A lot of circling from Tyson, barely any punches thrown. Paul looks busy but isn’t actually landing anything significant. Jabs from Paul. More jabs from Paul. Boxing is happening. Tyson circling and circling and circling. Ooh, head movement. Paul shows respect to Tyson, bowing to him before the final bell. OK.
