Christina Haack and her kids are doing better than ever!
In a new episode of Christina on the Coast, the HGTV star, 41, opens up to her friend Cassie Schienle about how she and her family have been doing following her split from her third husband, Josh Hall.
When Schienle asks if Christina feels like “a weight’s been lifted” off her shoulders, the mom of three’s face lights up as she shares her candid response.
“Because Josh is gone? Yes, A 220-lb. weight,” she replies. “The house is so much better, the kids are so happy. Like, everyone in this household is thriving and the kids truly are doing great.” Christina shares daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9, with her first husband, Tarek El Moussa, as well as son Hudson, 5, with her second husband, Ant Anstead.
“Everyone’s just doing better since he’s gone… just all that negative energy,” she adds.

She also shares for the first time how she feels that she tried to save her relationship with Josh, 44.
“I truly tried to make that work and tried to give him the self-help tools, tried to keep him busy and tried to say, ‘Why don’t we start flipping houses?’ and all those things. No matter what, you can’t make someone else happy; they can only make themselves happy.”

Schienle offers her longtime friend some words of support.
“There’s nothing you could’ve done,” she tells Christina. “Look, I’m proud of you because I know that wasn’t easy, to really step out of that situation that was so bad and so toxic. And then also know what you were about to go up against.”
In response, Christina closes her eyes and says, “Three divorces? Of course I didn’t want to get divorced for a third time.” Before Josh, she was married to El Moussa, 43, from 2009 to 2016, and Anstead, 45, from 2018 to 2020.
This prompts Schienle to then share some advice with her friend.
“Look, I know you love a relationship. You love to be in love. Not one thing has changed in our 25 years of friendship or knowing each other,” Schienle says. “For real, you have your beautiful children and a beautiful life and career. Alright, let’s slow it down.”
“Absolutely,” Christina agrees. The two friends then share a hug as the designer adds, “It’s all going to be fine. Appreciate you.”

On Christina’s other HGTV show The Flip Off, she shed some more light on how her third marriage impacted her kids while having an emotional conversation with El Moussa, who is also her Flip Off costar.
After explaining that she and Josh had a “blow up” that involved “middle fingers in my face,” she then revealed to him how their kids encouraged her to end things with Josh.
“The kids literally asked me to leave,” Christina said. “They told me he’s not nice to me. Why would I stick around?”

Josh and Christina split in July 2024 after nearly three years of marriage. The Tennessee-based real estate professional filed for divorce from the HGTV star and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, while also requesting spousal support, according to documents obtained by PEOPLE at the time.
Josh previously denied that he requested $65,000 per month in spousal support in October 2024, taking to Instagram to address what he called “false statements.”
