Prince William displayed a new style accessory during his trip to South Africa: A Taylor Swift friendship bracelet made by his and Kate Middleton’s daughter Princess Charlotte.
During his visit ahead of the 2024 Earthshot Prize Awards, the Prince of Wales sported a blue friendship bracelet bearing the word “Papa.” And as he revealed, the special piece was created by his and wife Kate Middleton‘s daughter.
“This is a sort of relic, if you’d like, from a Taylor Swift concert that my daughter decided she wanted to create a bracelet for,” William told Sky News Nov. 6. “She gave it to me when I came away. So I promised that I’d wear it and try not to lose while I was out here.”
The 42-year-old had taken Charlotte, 9, and her older brother Prince George, 11, to one of Taylor’s Eras Tour concerts in London in June for his 42nd birthday.
And while Charlotte helped her dad feel bejeweled during the outing, William—who famously performed with Taylor and Jon Bon Jovi at an event in Kensington Palace in 2013—proved the night was nothing short of enchanting. After all, he was caught on camera dancing along to her 1989 hit “Shake It Off” at the show.
But the fun didn’t stop there for William–who is also dad to his and Kate’s youngest son Prince Louis, 6—as he, Charlotte and George caught up with Taylor herself backstage. Plus, they got to meet her boyfriend Travis Kelce, with the group posing for a selfie together.

“Happy Bday M8!” the “Blank Space” singer captioned her post. “London shows are off to a splendid start.”

As for Travis’ reaction to meeting William, he had nothing but high praise for the royals. “We met royalty guys, there was royalty at the show,” Travis gushed during the June 26 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast. “I was lucky enough I got there early and got to meet Prince William. How about that? Your Royal Highness. He was the coolest motherf–king dude.”
The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end added that “little George and Charlotte” were “an absolute delight to meet.” In fact, he even admitted to being tripped up over protocol.
“Wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bow to them, curtsy,” he said, “[or] just be an American idiot and shake their hand, ‘Sup dude.'”
