One commenter wrote under the video, “Don Lemon with no job is the best thing that’s happened to me this year”

Don Lemon is letting loose in the New York City subways.

The former CNN anchor posted an unexpected TikTok on Thursday, Feb. 27 that captured him going up to unsuspecting subway riders to show them a photo on his phone — and he had someone capturing the results.

At first, Lemon, 58, knocked on the window of a subway car that was pulled into a station and when a woman turned to look at him, he showed her a strange photo that appeared to be a combination of Donkey from Shrek and Sonic the Hedgehog. As the train car pulled away, Lemon laughed.

He then showed a different photo. This time, one of himself, to another unsuspecting subway rider right as her train pulled away. He even ran with the subway for a few seconds to hold the woman’s attention.

The person filming Lemon was laughing, as was the journalist, as he held up a blue-tinted photo of himself on his phone, showing the camera what he’d shown the subway rider.

“Look at this picture…” he captioned the post, and in a comment under it, he wrote, “Am I wrong for this? 😂 😭.”

His followers seemed to think he was not wrong for it, as one person wrote, “Don after CNN has been amazing” and another wrote, “Don Lemon with no job is the best thing that’s happened to me this year.”

Both were referencing Lemon’s 2023 firing from CNN after 17 years, which he said at the time he was “stunned” by.

Lemon’s playful video comes days after he and Megyn Kelly began a terse online exchange following Kelly’s response to Joy Reid’s exit from MSNBC.

“Remember when Joy Reid laughingly mocked ‘White women tears’ as pathetic and offensive to her? Who’s crying now, Joy?” Kelly wrote on X. “Good riddance to the absolute worst person on television, and shame on NBC for letting it go on this long.”

In response, Lemon said on his YouTube show: “So let me just say to Megyn Kelly, in my 30-some years as a journalist and my 50-some years as a person of color: Go f— yourself. Okay?”

He also called Kelly “the worst person from television” as he referenced her firing from NBC and Today in 2018.
