Erik Per Sullivan, who once starred as Dewey in the hit Fox sitcom Malcolm in the Middle, was recently spotted in a rare public outing in Boston.

Per Sullivan, 33, portrayed Dewey, the witty, humorous and musically-inclined second-youngest child of the Wilkerson family. The show concluded its original run back in 2006 after seven seasons and 151 episodes.

The former actor, wearing a peacoat and a cap, appeared to be running errands and enjoying a cup of coffee.

Last week, it was announced that Dewey would be played by Caleb Ellsworth-Clark in the revival.

Per Sullivan has not commented directly on the reunion.

Kaczmarek, his TV mom, confirmed in a 2024 interview with Malcolm France that Per Sullivan simply lost interest in acting. “He’s very very well,” she said. “He did Malcolm for seven years. He started at 7, he ended at 14. He wasn’t interested in acting at all.”
