Manhunt Launched After at Least 12 People Injured in Shooting at Toronto Pub

At least 12 people have been injured in a shooting in Toronto.

The incident occurred on Progress Ave and Corporate Drive in the Scarborough district at around 10:39 p.m. on Friday, March 7, according to Toronto Police.

In a statement on X, police said there were no life-threatening injuries, while six people suffered “gunshot wounds” and were sent to hospital. The victims’ ages range from their 20s to 50s.

“TPS deploying all available resources to locate and arrest those responsible,” police added in their statement.

The shooting took place in a pub in the area, BBC News and NBC News reported.

Police said they are currently looking for three male suspects in the shooting, per the outlets. Their identities have not been released at this time.

An initial X post shared by police stated that one suspect was “wearing a black balaclava,” and he was seen “fleeing in a silver car.”

Surveillance footage captured armed police at the scene and emergency service responders putting one victim on a gurney and in the ambulance, NBC News reported.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said in a statement on Facebook, “I am deeply troubled to hear reports of a shooting at a pub in Scarborough. I have spoken to Chief Demkiw and he has assured me all necessary resources have been deployed.”

“This is an early and ongoing investigation — police will provide further details. My thoughts are with the victims and their families,” concluded Chow.
